Idaho Adventure: Hiking along Camels Back Reserve

This is a popular hiking spot along the foothills, and many of you may have already been there but, it was my first time venturing up the famous hillside.

Last week, the family and I hiked up and around Camels Back.

We’ve lived in the valley for over two years and we finally made the trek up the long staircase leading to the top of Camels Back.

For those who don’t know where it is, the trail is located off 13th Street and Camels Back Park.

Camels Back Trail was perfect for the little ones and is rated 'easy' on the Ridge to Rivers Interactive Trail Map.

Our adventure took us from the top area around a 1.5-mile loop up and down the hillside.

The views from the hilltop are stellar and will only get better as fall colors take over.

If you're looking for a longer hike, Camels Back Trail ties into the Hulls Gulch area which can eventually take you all the way up the mountain.

Trails in the area are a mix but Camels Back Trail specifically is a pedestrian-only trail, and dogs must be on a leash.
